General Course Information

 

·        Instructor: Dr. Brahim Medjahed

·        When: Tuesday and Thursday, 01:40pm – 3:30pm.

·        Where: Science Building ELB 173.

·        Office Hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30pm to 6:00pm or by appointment. If you need an appointment, please send an email at least 24 hours before the requested time.

·        CIS 4262 syllabus.

·        Since we will cover various advanced topics in this class, we do not have a specific textbook to work on.  Before each chapter, I will provide documentation relevant to the topics covered in that chapter.

 

Grading

 

·        Project 1: 15%

·        Project 2: 15%

·        Project 3: 20%

·        Midterm: 25%

·        Final Exam: 25%

 

Class Policy

 

·        All students must respect the statement on academic conduct: “The University of Michigan - Dearborn values academic honesty and integrity. Each student has a responsibility to understand, accept, and comply with the university's standards of academic conduct as set forth by the Code of Academic Conduct, as well as policies established by the schools and colleges. Cheating, collusion, misconduct, fabrication, and plagiarism are considered serious offenses. Violations will not be tolerated and may result in penalties up to and including expulsion from the University”.

·        You are expected to return your assignments at the due date (before midnight). Late assignments (project, homework, etc.) will be penalized 15% off for each late day.

·        If there are mistakes in grading your project or exam, please contact me within a week after the return of your work. The entire work will be graded again and the new grade will replace the original one, whether the new grade is higher or lower than the original grade.

All projects are individual.  At the end of the project, each student will have to:

1.     Submit a report describing the design of his/her project.

2.     Present a project demo showing the major features of his/her implementation.
