People in the Group

The following faculty members are currently the most active in the research agenda of the group:
  • Dr. William Grosky: multimedia databases, content-based image retrieval, multimedia annotation, semantic Web, and data mining
  • Dr. Brahim Medjahed: Web databases, Web services, workflows, E-government, E-commerce
  • Dr. Naeem Seliya: data mining and its applications to software engineering, data quality and noise detection, and bioinformatics
  • Dr. Yuqing Song: multimedia information retrieval, multimedia systems, image processing, computer vision, data mining, and bioinformatics
  • Dr. Qiang Zhu: query processing and optimization, multidatabase systems, multidimensional indexing techniques, data mining, Web data management, and self-managing databases
  • Several other faculty members in the CIS department are also conducting database-related research, including: Dr. Shengquan Wang (privacy preserving data mining), Dr. Nilesh Patel (video retrieval, mobile security and computing) and Dr. Roberto Kampfner (biological information processing, information system analysis and design, disributed information control and processing).
