ani_ball.gif Conference Scope

In this Web-age, international collaboration and exchange are even more important and interesting for data management research and development. In June 2000, the first WAIM conference was held in Shanghai, China, to promote such collaboration and exchange. It was a success and attracted more than 100 participants from 16 countries. (See WAIM'00 Web site http://www.ise.gmu.edu/waim00 for more details.) WAIM'01 will continue this tradition, providing researchers and practitioners with a forum to share their experiences in tackling problems in managing and using data, information and knowledge in the age of the Internet and Web and to identify new issues and directions for research and development work in the new millennium.

You are invited to submit technical papers in English reporting recent results in database and related fields. Both research papers and experience and application papers are welcome. While research papers should report original research work, experience and application papers should describe the development and operations of challenging database related systems and applications.

We promise that the WAIM technical programs will continue to be exciting. We encourage you to join us in Xi'an, China, and take part in this exciting and enriching event.
